How Time Flies

Every once in a while I find myself taking a step back and realizing just how time flies by and life gets so busy. There's so much I have to do and so much more that I want to do; how can a person fit everything into such a short amount of time?

Today I find myself somewhat disappointed for putting my blog on the backburner. So many stories and experiences and thoughts I find rushing through my head that haven't yet been given a chance to be shared with the world. On one hand, I suppose that's a good thing that I was able to have that break because now I feel like I've hit somewhat of a muse that I've been missing previously.

I suppose what I'm looking forward to coming up is the end of my school courses. While they've been fun, I think it really is time to buckle down and complete them. Yeah, that may mean some of my other projects won't get as much attention as I would like. It may even mean I cannot spend as much time with the family as I would like, but once I'm done... I don't have to worry about it anymore. It will truly be such a load off my mind and a weight off my shoulders to not have to devote so much time to working through these classes. I suppose what I'm saying is that I'm about to start a strict diet of textbook material for a while until I can be confident that I know what I'm doing.

So don't be alarmed if you don't hear from me for a bit... though I still fully intend to get back to making blog posts more regularly and continuing to try to stream more often. Perhaps it is a strange thing to many people out there, but live streaming... even if I were to be reading a book or working through schoolwork... something about it seems to motivate me to work harder and to be better and more proactive in other parts of my life. I don't know how to explain it really, but it's there in my mind working away, breaking down the wall that builds up stopping me from getting the simplest things done on a day-to-day basis.

I'm not going to go into detail about everything I have to do and everything I want to do, you'll see the results of all my hard work as things are completed. I can say my primary goals at this time include performing well with my new job (which I absolutely love), spending quality time with my family, and getting back up to date with the real (not gaming) blog posts that I know you all love.

I look forward to continuing to entertain you all. Don't forget to follow the blog, Twitter, YouTube, and Twitch so you don't miss any of the coming action!

As usual, you're all fantastic and I look forward to hearing from you when time isn't flying away from you too. ^_^

=== A Neglectful Owner ===

With being so busy over the past month of June with work and school and everything else, I've been a pretty neglectful owner to my blog. I'm definitely super happy to be done being so super busy all the time; finally I can actually sit down and think about things other than what work I have to get done at all points in time.

Of course I'm still super busy these days. I have quite a bit of work to keep track of and a few projects I'd like to work on including finally getting my garden ready to grow something.... probably for next year at this rate. Obviously I really want to get my blog back up and running as well. There's so much I want to write about, but I just haven't had enough time recently. I wish I had just a few more hours each day... maybe if I didn't have to sleep all the time....

Realistically though, I think I just need to work on having a better diet. I think most of my lost energy is actually because I don't really eat very well. I do have a habit of only regularly eating one meal per day. I guess that makes me a bit of a neglectful owner of myself. I really don't get plenty of exercise either; some days I only have the time to sit in the car, sit at work, and sit at home.

This clearly says to me that I need to work on quite a few things. I need to work on my health, my time management, and I need to work on getting back on track to my goals of content production and successful productive use of time. Even taking the time to think about what I want to type next but not putting anything down makes me feel silly for wasting time.

I might have a bit of a time-problem. ^_^

=== Engagements ===

Recently I have found myself quite busy with many engagements going on which are making it quite difficult get much done other than work, eat, and sleep. As always there's so much that I would like to do, but I'm usually either too tired from driving or I have some sort of school assignment due that night. Although there's plenty going on to keep me busy, I have managed to work through some of these engagements, and have even gotten some to work out to my advantage.

The most prominent engagement I have currently would probably be school. With only half a month left before the finals, I'm quite close to being done the course. I'll unfortunately have a class which I'll have to retake to officially have the course certificate, but otherwise I should be quite employable in a real office setting. As much as I enjoy working where I am currently, I need to work towards something better for myself and my family because we just don't quite have the funds to get through everything we need. We're really close, but it seems like just when we're almost there, something happens which sets us behind again. This time it's a stone-chip which has become much worse than a chip. Just as we left to go get it fixed, we found that it turned from a chip to a crack which is just getting bigger each day.

After school, I'm finding myself somewhat engaged with getting everything together at work; There's a lot of paperwork to keep up with and get on top of every day. I do however really enjoy my job. There are days when I find it difficult to get out the door and go to work and then once I get there, I find myself not wanting to make the necessary phone calls or whatever I need to do. I think if I were able to eat properly that I wouldn't have so much of that issue and I would be a much happier and more energetic person; perhaps I have an iron deficiency.

The engagement I'm wanting to work on most is my content production. I've been so busy lately that my willpower to work on this sort of thing including my blog, Youtube, Twitch, and other projects (which also includes my garden) has declined drastically. I would like so much to work more on these sorts of things, but as of right now there are more important things to do. I'm sure I'll have much more time next month after school is done when I'll be able to live a more normal life not so full of things to do at every waking moment of the day. I keep getting the occasional subscriber or follower on YouTube and Twitch which makes me want to keep going. I keep seeing the numbers of viewers of my blog increasing over time which drives me to write more. These are things I really enjoy doing and want to succeed at without it feeling too much like work and without being exhausted all the time. I look forward to the day when I can confidently say I've truly done good work with at least one of these helping out in just a simple small way... even if it only pays for an ice cream one day down the road.

The most exciting engagement is without a doubt the amazing news that Carley and I are ENGAGED! No seriously, there's a ring and everything. She had been saying for some time that she would be fine with a silver band, or a ring carved out of wood... or a ring pop. I managed to get her a real ring with a sapphire gem and get her out to Lake Diefenbaker where we explored the wild surroundings before finding a wonderful spot to propose to her without her having any clue about it before hand. She thought I just wanted a video of us kissing on the beach to remember the trip, but I then told her to wait and told her I had forgotten something. She had no idea what was going on and didn't believe her eyes when she saw a box get pulled out of my bag then get opened to reveal an actual engagement ring. It was such a beautiful experience going out there in general and it was made so much better by finally being able to propose to my love Carley. I look forward to our next trip out there. I only wish it didn't take 6 hours and a whole tank of gas to get there and back, but it's absolutely worth it. I wouldn't trade it for the world, and I wouldn't trade my love for the world. I'm the luckiest guy... in the world.

There are a lot of engagements going on right now and I can't wait to see how they all turn out. ^_^

=== Spring Semester ===

If you've never taken Spring classes at school, then oh my goodness... let me tell you about how different this semester is compared to last semester. My previous semesters have been much MUCH slower than this one. I didn't realize it at first, but I already have midterms coming up in about a week and my finals are only about a month later. I have assignments due almost every day with not much of a break between each one.

It's definitely been really hard to keep up with everything and still help out around the house and with the baby. I want to be able to do a great job at work and around the house and with school all at the same time, but instead I think I'm tiring myself out and not doing an amazing job of anything. It's a tough position to be in; I know I want to do so much that I wouldn't sleep if I didn't have to, but I simply don't have enough energy to accomplish everything I want to do at this time.

As an example: my blog. I have hopes and dreams and goals of wanting to post things at least every couple days in an effort to grow my site and viewers and also as a way of sharing myself with the world in a way which could possibly benefit others. Instead, I see myself only posting maybe once a week at best and the rest of the time I sit in front of my computer after work and fall asleep until I finally drag myself to bed. This unfortunately happens with homework some days as well.

Combined with the busy-ness of how work has been at this time of the year, I can certainly say I'm looking forward to after June once I'm done with 99% of school. I'm looking forward to finally having time to think without feeling guilty that I'm not constantly working.

Have a great day everybody! ^_^

=== Semester 3 Begins! ===

Hard to believe the finals of last semester just happened a week ago and now here I am completing my first couple assignments today. I definitely wasn't expecting the final semester to begin so quickly but here we are starting the last leg of the journey (for the most part).

It's been a tough road so far getting through all the classes. These days I don't have much energy to work with where I'm not physically exhausted. Some days I'm quite mentally exhausted as well, but for the most part I'm wanting to do so much and get so much done but I'm just not able to because my body wants to sleep. I know I'll be able to get through it all in the end, but right now it feels SO bad.

Let's use tomorrow as an example. Tomorrow I want to work on my blog by making a post and promoting it. I also want to upload a video or two on my YouTube channel. I have hopes of wanting to play with the dog, steam clean the carpets, do a bit of writing, watch a show, work on school work, spend time with Carley, bake banana bread, go for a hike, play DDR, read a book, play a game on a console that I haven't played before, and probably more. There's so much I would love to do! Unfortunately I just don't really have the energy to do all of that in one day.

It isn't all bad though. I'm sure I make it sound all awful, but seriously I actually think we're doing quite well at the moment. I'm super proud of myself for having made about $0.40 so far through my blog (which is a huge accomplishment for me!). And I'm still managing to find some time to do things other than be a vegetable or only work so much that I have no personality. Just give me a week or so from now and I think things might be a little better. Next coming month we're actually looking to be doing much better than we have been previously and oh boy I can't wait to tell you all about it!

=== Long Weekend Ahead! ===

(Posting this on April 14th, wrote this on April 12th)

I can't tell you enough just how excited I am for the coming long weekend. I would like to say I'm going to catch up on sleep, but instead I'll likely be keeping myself busy with all my media, our baby, and preparing for my next round of classes coming up. This semester wasn't so bad, but I'm thinking I'll change a little bit of how I've been studying. I obviously haven't been able to work on my classes quite as well as I would have liked due to having our baby recently, but I also think I haven't been focusing very well on the work I've been trying to learn.

I've noticed that even though it takes a little bit longer to get through any textbook reading and things of that nature, I retain and understand the work much better when I type it out. I tried writing out my work once upon a time, but that's a little bit TOO slow. Typing on the other hand, does two things for me. It excercises by brain by making my hands work and learn to type better and more consistently with greater accuracy, and it allows me to focus better on the words in front of my face rather than skimming through everything to find anything that pops out at me.

As fun as it is to save time and cut corners, I think there's a healthy balance to doing some things a little bit slower rather than trying to get everything done as fast as possible. I think learning something slowly than speeding up as you get better at something is a much better way to go until you're able to do a task or activity quickly without having to give it much thought. The first semester, I took things a little slowly and I think I did well; the second semester, I tried to cut a lot of corners an messed a few things up which may mean I'll have to retake a class at a later time. This coming third semester, I'll be going for a middle-ground sort of approach where I will take things slowly as necessary, and hope to pick up speed as things go on.

So besides thinking so much about school and my finals which are happening tomorrow, I'm looking forward to having the next three days off followed by a calm Sunday of work. Maybe Carley and I will get ourselves some fresh air and perhaps I'll use the time to make more posts or upload more videos. I love having time to work on hobbies and things.

Have a wonderful day everybody! ^_^

Almost Two Weeks Already.

It's hard to believe it has already been nearly two weeks since the birth of our daughter. Personally I'm not a fan of all the crying and loud noises, but so far it hasn't been TOO bad. I think Carley and I are starting to get a sort of rhythm going. Surely there will be much more challenges to come, but at the moment, I think we're doing pretty well.

Both of us have been on and off tired at different times and let me tell you... when you have a baby, there isn't much time to have everything planned out like you may have used to do. I like to plan things out and get things done at certain times, so on, and so forth. Now... I try to get everything I'm hoping to done during the quiet times that I have until the next time I hear that familiar crying sort of whining thing. It's not all cries and awful noises though, she's really not all that bad. I'm absolutely looking forward to days when she's more communicative and talkable and things.

The best news is that Furgle is amazing with her. He likes to sniff her a lot and get his nose right up in her face, but he doesn't lick her too much or try to bite at her and things. He still likes to hang around with us and normally isn't too much of a pain. Carley takes him out for a walk almost every day because she's trying to get back into shape and healthy before having her jaw surgery and then doing this process all over again. Furgle is definitely still our baby and will continue to be as long as we have him.

I'm glad it seems like we've figured out something that works for all of us before my finals for this semester and the start of next semester. With work, school, and our daughter, it's certainly a lot of work to handle each and every day, but it's all working towards getting what we need for our family. Soon enough I'll be able to start applying for a better-paying job so we won't have to live so tightly when it comes to spending.

We'll get there for sure, it's only a waiting game now. Have a great day everybody! ^_^

We're In The Hospital Again.

What better time than now to go ahead and make a new blog post while sitting in the hospital... again. It seems like this past month has been going from one place of sitting to the next, just waiting for our baby to get here. We've been in the hospital a couple times for various reasons which I've explained in previous posts, but now it seems as though the time may actually be upon us.

As we speak, it doesn't seem as though Carley is actually in labour. She said she has felt abnormally wet all day and had to change a couple extra times, but we didn't come in here for that reason. Today, we came in because there was some blood and thought it would be a good idea to come make sure everything is alright. As it turns out, the strip they use to test for amniotic fluid has tested positive and so it seems like her water has broken in some way which is at the very least, causing her to leak.

At this time, I don't exactly know what the plan is YET, but it sounds like they would plan to induce her either tonight or tomorrow. On one hand, I was really hoping for April 2nd, of a birth-date... mostly because I'm just not ready yet. Carley says she's mentally ready for this to happen, but I don't think I am. In all honesty, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be ready for it whether it would happen tonight or tomorrow, or a week from now. Obviously I want to be a good parent, but I'm just not sure how I feel about everything. I'm excited that we're about to have a child pretty soon, but there's also so much I feel like I want to do with my life that I just haven't quite had the chance to do yet.

Thankfully, most of what I want to do with my life at this time has to do with blogging, streaming, and content production; all of which would be much more fun to do if I didn't also have to do school. I don't mind doing school, but it feels like the timing just ended up being a little bit off. I'm definitely going to finish everything; I just feel like it's been an uphill battle trying to keep up and on top of school while trying to not go insane at the same time. So then I have content production of various kinds which I find to be quite calming and relaxing. This is not only a fun hobby for me, but also the sort of pass-time which I believe I could still do even with a baby growing into a child in the future.

I have already made $0.05 through my blog at this point which drives me to work harder and get more done. Some days it's really hard to not either be too tired or too lazy to want to do anything. The same thing goes for my homework really. If I keep at it, this sort of thing could one day become a huge success and really help to support me and my family.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please feel free to let me know all about them! I love getting your feedback and would love more ways to keep you all coming back! ^_^

Some Of My Thoughts On Sports

Okay, so I've been thinking recently about how I feel about hockey. Maybe this will blow your mind, but I'm pretty sure I'm the only Canadian who doesn't like hockey. Or well... I don't MIND it, but it's just not very interesting to me. I guess if I'm being honest, I don't really like many sports in general other than curling. So in reality, I'm sure I'm not the only person who doesn't like hockey... but why don't I like hockey?

It's too slow for me. Many people would say otherwise, but I get bored of only seeing 2-3 points scored in a whole game. And yeah, sure, they skate back and forth across the ice from one side to the other, but then they sit there... passing the puck... over and over and over again. I realize they're looking for the right opportunity for someone to slip up and give that opening where they're able to shoot the puck through the throng of people and into the goal; it takes so long though. Unlike in basketball where there are points being scored all the time; tons and tons of points over and over again! Wow! Look at all those points! They scored again! And again! Wow! And... they scored... again... and again.... oh.... again.

Okay, so I'm not a huge fan of basketball either. Yeah, it takes a lot of skill to be able to accurately and consistently shoot a ball into a basket, but come on... they score way too much! To me, this means there isn't a good enough way to play defense in this game. You're not really allowed to touch anybody, and there isn't really anything stopping you from doing a layup into the basket over and over except when you miss; I just don't really get it. And once again, this is a game where people go back and forth across the court from one side to the other again and again and again. What am I missing here? Why is this so much fun?

These are two sports where (to me) they either score not enough, or way too much. And all the action seems very repetitive to me. That's not to say I don't support anybody who plays these sports, I just don't personally understand the appeal to either watching or playing these games. Maybe it's because I view these games as a little bit less skill-based, and more fitness-based. Hockey, basketball, and football (which I enjoy watching a little bit more) are all games which seem predominantly endurance games. They play for a long time and have to have a very high fitness level to be able to continue to play throughout the entire game. I'll say, that is pretty cool that people are able to have that sort of level of fitness that they can do such a thing. My type of game is a little bit different though.

My sport of choice Curling. Now, if you really want to be the very best at curling, yes, you do need to actually be fit and able to last for a long time. But there is also so much strategy and thinking that goes into this game that I just don't find anywhere else; though I'm sure it exists in other games as well. Curling for me is like playing a game of chess where you not only have to decide on the best play possible, you also have to throw your piece with the correct amount of power that you get there. It's an amazing combination of strategic thinking, muscle memory, and fitness that all gets put to work at the same time. Just thinking about this makes me miss being able to curl; this year with school, a family on the way, and having to budget our money a little tighter than previously, I just wasn't able to participate.

Even as a nerd, some sports are still fun to me.

Midterms - February 2017

It is my second semester and the next round of tests are fast approaching. Am I ready? Am I prepared? I think I have some more reading and practical applications to do to be sure, but so far I think things have been going well. It's tough trying to balance work school and home life all together. Once school is done though, it will all be worth it. So long as I can keep myself on task, I'm on track for getting myself a better-paying job to support my family. With that comes happiness and comfort for us. Work and family will be a solved puzzle at that time. Then all that's left is my personal success.

I want to have a successful hobby. Or rather... I want to make my hobby successful. I believe any hobby can be made successful with enough hard work and dedication. That is why I continue to blog and make videos and put myself out there. Because I have had some success with what I have  done and I'm sure I can do even better if I just put my mind to it and take more action to promote myself further than I already have.

This course I'm taking for school right now is a door to open many possibilities in the future. I only need to prove my hard work and determination to show others, but more importantly myself, that I have what it takes to pull through and overcome the obstacles ahead of me no matter what path I choose to travel.

Nearly half a course completed, only half more to go. ^_^

Upcoming Midterms

Next week will be my first set of tests for this course. I guess I'll find out whether or not I'm truly learning anything in my classes. It's a little bit exciting to get a chance to see how well I'm assimilating information. So far a lot of the information has been a review of things I've already known or previously learned, but there's still things that I need to go over and practice before I'll feel perfectly ready for my tests. If I do well on these tests, then I'll feel much better about more schoolwork coming up in the future.

That's really my random thought of the day right now. Besides that, I hope everybody has a wonderful day. I know I've been quite happy recently even though I've had to get up so early in the morning. Actually, I really never thought I'd ever be a morning person, but I do find it much easier to wake up in the morning now since working at the kennel.

Anywhos, that's a story for another day. Have a wonderful day everybody. You're all fantastic! ^_^

Nobody Teaches You This Stuff In School

So recently I've come into a couple issues when it comes to money and things. There's a lot of backstory to it, but I'm not going to go into all of that. Now that I think of it, I'm not really sure what I want to talk about or how to say it. All I know is that I'm just a little bit disappointed and the only thing that can be done is just to find more regularity and stability. If you have ever lived paycheck to paycheck, then I would imagine you'd know exactly how I'm feeling. Everything is going great, maybe even looking up and like you're going to get on top. Then suddenly you get a little bit messed up. The good news for us right now is that it can still be fixed, whether we get help or not.

Usually I have a much better idea of how I want to order things and link things together, but today I'm just not really sure. I guess I wish handling money and making decisions with it was something they taught you in school. If you're really paying attention, they kind of teach you about how interest works when it comes to credit cards and mortgages. Nobody tells you how to decide which bill to pay when you can only pay for one of them.

There's a lot of things we feel kids don't get taught in school and a lot of ways we feel like school doesn't encourage children in their true interests. Hence, Carley and I have agreed that we'd like to home-school our children. Yes, it would be a lot of work, but that's the kind of thing Carley really enjoys doing; I would also love the ability to encourage my children to put their own time into learning more about something that really interests them without it feeling like they HAVE to because an assignment is due in a week.

I don't know, I guess today is really just more of some kind of rant or vent than an ordered idea as usual. My apologies if this isn't the usual post you like to read, but every once in a while it's nice to get things off your chest. I'll make up for this with a post on an actual interesting topic sometime soon. I know there have been some things to do with space recently that I'd love to give my opinion on (not that anybody NEEDS my opinion on things).

Anywhos, have a wonderful day and stay awesome everybody out there! You're all the best in some way. Keep doing what you do best! ^_^

August Update

It's the beginning of August. I've found a full-time job and school is coming up soon. We're making our payments for rent and catching up on our bills. I think things are going well. The real challenge will be balancing work and school and still finding just a little bit of time to do my own things every once in a while.

I don't feel like I have a ton of time to myself these days. I always feel busy. I really can't imagine how I'm going to feel once I have to devote time to schoolwork and whatnot; surely I'll survive though.

In other news, Carley's gecko Ryker has started moving around more again. He's much more interesting when he actually leaves his rock and does things. Really makes me want to get a puppy, but I suppose I'll just have to continue getting my dog-fix through work for now. I'm sure we plan on getting a Shih Tzu once we're ready and I also have a goal to get an American Eskimo one day in the future.

I may have to be alright with moving out of the city and onto an acreage to be able to get all the dogs I want plus rescuing a few. That might mean awful internet out in the country if we go ahead with that idea, but that's thinking for quite some time into the future. I'm sure we'll figure out what we want to do when the time comes.

Feeling Alright, Searching For Work

So I haven't posted anything for a few days. I'm here now; still hanging on. I don't have much to tell other than the fact that I'm still kicking and to be honest, I'm pretty proud of that. I've been spending a good portion of my time lately job-hunting. It's a pretty big deal that I find some sort of work pretty soon. Luckily I have enough money saved up to be able to pay for another month of rent, but hopefully I won't have to wait that long until I get a reasonable job somewhere. It would certainly be nice to actually save money.

I've been looking at quite a few things and ideas of what to do with myself. I'm pretty sure I'm going to take some time to volunteer at the Moose Jaw Humane Society so that I can get my fix of fuzzy animals until I can finally get one of my own. I've also been looking at some school courses and may have finally found something that I would enjoy doing.

Other than that, I'm trying to continue with my blog, maybe start up some kind of Fiverr thing... who knows, I might make a couple dollars out of something. And I'm trying to find time to get to streaming when I can.

All in all I have to say, I'm feeling alright. I'm alive and breathing. I'm unfortunately missing curling tonight because I'm so worried about looking for a job at the moment. This hasn't been the best year for curling, but that's alright. Hopefully next Winter will be more stable than this past one was and I'll be able to keep up with curling. Not only that... perhaps I'll be able to find other people interested in curling for next year.

Well anywhos, have a great day everybody! Please come support my Twitch stream if you get the chance! Every follow helps... or even a momentary view. ^_^

I just feel like writing

I've actually been in quite a creative mood lately. Not creative so much that I've wanted to make arts and crafts... only crafting words into coherent sentences and short-stories. But I really like writing. I mean, that's why I update this blog whenever I feel like it... so that I can share my words with everybody else.

I'm still fighting with myself most days just to get out of bed. I still haven't gotten through the vast majority of projects I have to do for school, but as long as I can try just a little bit every day, that's all that matters. And I can only hope that the people who care are able to see what I've done; even if it hasn't been a lot.

Today I managed to get myself out of the house to go for a little bit of groceries. So that's my accomplishment for today. It's not much, but at least I can say that I had the energy and will to get myself out of the house and take care of myself.

I really wish I had more to tell you guys about today, but that's basically it. Perhaps I'll put up some of my stories on my blog some of these days.

A Post Mostly About Carley

I just have to say, I am so proud of my Carley. She's just wonderful. She's been working so hard to make all the money we need to live here and even when she's been feeling awful, she's still going into work to make the money we need. I know it's hard on her and sometimes it seems like we don't have enough time to see one another, but we both know it'll pay off in the end.

Soon enough I'll be on my first co-op work-term, and we'll be able to save a bit of money. Perhaps we'll be able to get her started in school for Carpentry. She's already applied, so as long as we're able to, we'll get her started as soon as possible.

Unfortunately today she isn't feeling too well, but I'm doing my best to take care of her and get her in wonderful health. She told me her stomach feels a bit better after the Pepto Bismol, but she still has a headache. I'm sure the bright light as she's trying to sleep doesn't help too much. Once we get the curtains my mother is making for us, she'll probably sleep better. We might have to get her a sleep mask. So whether or not she's going into work tonight, I don't know yet. Hopefully we can get her feeling better by tonight, but if not, that's alright.

Good news for today is that I've gotten a lot of my CADD homework done... after having accidentally overwritten it with the wrong file version causing me to lose a bunch of my work. I'm taking a bit of a break now after having worked on it all day so far, and I'm nearly done. Just a little bit more work and I'll be at the point where I want to be for next day's class. So now I'll take a fun break and do a bit of streaming for funzies. If you want to check out my stream, you can catch it at www.twitch.tv/DaemonVirus1.

Have a great day everyone! ^_^

Happy New Year!

It has certainly been a tough year, that's for sure. But with a new year comes a new start for everyone and everything. A new year is a time to refresh what was old and fix things that didn't work before. Now is the time to do the things I never thought I could do.

I finished last year passing almost all of my classes in school. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I could do it before. But I was able to get through it and now I'm more confident than ever. I'm living here with Carley and I know that with the time I now have to focus on things better than before, I can get through it all. And we can do it together.

This will be a wonderful new year. My relationship with Carley will get stronger, and I will become more confident in myself. I am going to do my best this year. Sometimes I will win. Other times I will fail. This may lead to fights and arguments... but in the end, we will be better people because of it. We learn more about one another every day.

There are so many things I want to do with my time this year. I plan to take hold of the things I want to do. No more procrastinating. No more making excuses. This year will be my year to reach my goals!

First Semester Finals

Well, that wasn't so bad. I wasn't sure how I would do this first semester. It was my first whole semester back in school since high school. Now I know I could have done better than I did, but I'm actually quite happy to have only failed one class. Sure my other marks weren't as high as I probably would have liked, but I'm thinking it will be much easier now to focus on school this coming second semester now that I'm living in Moose Jaw with Carley who's working full-time.

I managed to fail math. I've never been awesome at math, so I'm not too heartbroken over it. Obviously I would have liked to pass the class, but I'll get through it when I get the chance to take it again. The extra time to do it again, this time in the comfort of a closer home, will be good for me I think. I'll be able to take the time to go through my textbook and get math practice in. Especially since I don't have to worry about making money while I'm trying to learn school things.

I guess I don't really have a lot to say today. Mostly I'm just really happy to be done my first whole semester. That's a milestone for me. It's been a while since I've actually accomplished something useful outside of my room or having a girlfriend. So here's hoping us moving here was the right choice. I know it will make my life in school easier, and I know Carley is really happy to finally have a job... even if it's a little hectic for her right now.

Moving To A New Home

So my Carley and I have decided to make the leap together into having a place of our own in Moose Jaw. We figured it would be nicer for me to live close to school, her to live somewhere that they're actually offering her jobs, and for us both to live together to avoid the driving back and forth from each other's houses.

Now last time I was living here was also for school, but it was on my own. And I certainly don't remember it being so difficult and tiring. We rented a large Uhaul truck to carry all of our stuff together... and maybe that's why I remember it being easier. I'm pretty sure last time I only had enough stuff to pack up my old car, maybe a little bit more. This time, we had a whole 20 foot truck to load and unload... lots of heavy things.

I had plans to do so much more today, but I was actually exhausted and didn't get it all done.  I had to take a nap today instead of going in to Regina for my dentist appointment. Carley is pretty tired from working full time the past few days, she's not used to it after not doing so for quite some time. So while she's sleeping, I'm working on unpacking some boxes and moving other ones to the rooms they're supposed to be in to make it easier to work through. It sure is dark in the living room without a light on... just gotta move a few more things until I get to the lamp...

Understanding how to Learn.

So I got an assignment for a class last week that was presented online as a recorded video due to my teacher not being there for that class. I found it much easier to follow along with what was going on because any time I missed something I was able to pause the video or rewind it and catch up. It makes me think about a couple things.

First, I wonder if I would be doing a lot better if I were able to go over all my lessons as a video that I were able to pause and rewind... I'm thinking of buying a large SD card to put into my phone so I can record all my classes. I think I would then find it much easier to understand everything outside of class if I were able to go over the lesson as though it were happening again. Not to mention I think that actually might be a much easier way of keeping all my classes organized. I'd be able to upload them all onto my computer and rename them as their lesson names in the proper order. The more and more I think about this, the more I actually like the idea. I do in fact believe that is what I'm going to do next semester. Record everything using my phone. Yeah, definitely.

Second, I think.... actually I don't remember what I was thinking of secondly. I probably just went over it because of how much I like the idea previously as I was typing it out. So I guess that's what I'm going to do next semester. So long as I'm allowed to, that's what I'm going to do. That way I'll be able to pay full attention to the lesson rather than furiously writing down notes as I go along, hoping to keep up and somehow understand what needs to be done at a later point in time.

So now I understand what I need to do next semester to be more successful.
