Content Reset - Back To Basics
We're doing a content reset back to basics. I've had some time to think about this whole challenge thing that I decided to start doing back at the beginning of June; I quite simply don't like it. I've heard That some people think my content is not as good when I'm pushing it out as quick as possible, which makes sense; It's hard to get something out every single day and have it be good quality.
I'm still aiming to post links to my content on my blog so it can all be found whether that's reviews, book readings, game-plays, or whatever else I decide I want to do; everything will be much more thought out than it has been for the past couple months.
The upcoming plans for the blog include more personal posts about current events and what's going on around the house. We'll be doing more reviews of food and movies because I'm a fan of both and I want you all to know what the best places are to eat and what the best movies are! Of course we'll continue to review more games as we play through them, complete them, or decide we're done with the ongoing content of certain games that never end if you keep on playing all the time. I'm also very excited to tell you all that I will be continuing to read through books partially because I love to talk and share things with you all, and especially because it's gives me a perfect excuse to take more time to read books!
It was actually my fiancee who mentioned that people have asked her about the quality of my blog. I'm not sure what I would do without Carley helping me along with suggestions and things. She seems to have some sort of way with people and getting them to talk that I just don't understand. I'm glad I have her to get information for me, because I just can't seem to get many people to comment on links or posts. Thank you Carley for being the awesomest!
My goal is to give everyone the best content I can, which means I need to look at what I'm doing, take criticism, and turn that into better and more effective content. The only way I can continue to do this is by having your comments whether that's on a link you've seen somewhere else or directly on my post. Don't be shy, you're more than welcome to give your comments of exactly how you feel about everything, if you think it's something you like, or if you think it may be more effective to do things in a different way.
So if there's anything else you'd like to see coming up, please let me know your thoughts and suggestions and I'll do my best to accommodate every reasonable thing I can do.
As usual, everybody is fantastic and awesome and I hope you all have the best day! ^_^

Would You Like A Teddy Bear? =25=
I never imagined I would ever be asked the question "Would you like a teddy bear?" while walking down the street.
We had just dropped off the car at Kal Tire so they could check if there was anything wrong with one of the tires which I found was quite low on pressure. On the way back home Carley decided she wanted some Taco Time, so we made a detour to make our way past the restaurant for some lunch. As it turns out, the Moose Jaw Fire Department was just finishing up their lunch at Taco Time as we were coming down the street.
I thought it was pretty cool to see the firemen out and about. They drove towards us after getting into the firetruck and really surprised us when one of them came hanging out the passenger side and offered us a stuffed moose while asking "Would you like a teddy bear?" This totally made our day and now Isabelle owns a stuffed moose!
I've heard of awesome things happening to people on the street all the time, but I think this is the first time anything like this has happened to me. I'm so grateful for that happening and feel amazing that even though it was so hot and felt kinda lame to be walking so much in the heat, we were in the right place at the right time.
If you ever get the chance, you should do things like this to other people. It'll make you feel great! ^_^

=== Food Review - Burger Cabin - Burgers - 7/10 ===
Recently while out for a hike we stopped at the Burger Cabin in Wakamow Valley in the southeast area of Moose Jaw. There are always places which are talked about throughout cities and this was one of them which we hadn't been to yet; perhaps that means we don't get out enough to explore the very city we live in. No matter the reason, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food made at this location.
I'm always a fan of onion rings anywhere I go even though Carley hates anything to do with onions and would rather not be anywhere near me after they've been eaten... so I got some onion rings to see how they rate compared to other places. They're great!
I also got myself chicken strips because I'm not really all that much of a fan of burgers (though I will eat them if there aren't any other good options). I was quite pleased with the chicken strips and honestly if they didn't make very good chicken strips, I would be concerned about the quality of the rest of the food. Carley got herself a burger which she was quite pleased with and I'm sure she would happily get another one if we went back.
The only thing that went wrong with the meal was that I asked for a large drink and only got half of one which was also somewhat flat. The good news is that me only having half of a drink was no fault of their own, but rather was because a sneaky Carley drank half of my drink on the way to the picnic table. The flat drink was obviously because their Co2 was running out and I don't blame them for that either, it happens every once in a while.
The location of the shop is what really makes this a special place for me. It's not down town or even in a residential area really. It's more of a destination place for the purpose of eating outside and enjoying fresh air at the same time because you're having a lovely meal in the park right by all the trees and water and everything else that's nice in the area.
So all in all, I would say this was a good place to go. The food isn't super special, but the location is great, which for me earns it 7/10. If you're looking for a nice place to eat in Moose Jaw, check this one out and let me know what you think.

=== Book Reading - The Ice Dragon - Intro =22=
Alright, I've decided to start something new which is to read books and upload them to YouTube along with all the other videos I make. I figure not everybody likes to watch Age of Wonders and I know that I enjoy listening to books being read every once in a while as well as Carley likes when I read to her, so here we go with our first book The Ice Dragon by George R. R. Martin.
Please let me know if there's anything you think I can do to make any of my content better by commenting below.

We Have A New Fence =21=
Finally after starting to build last weekend we now have a new fence in our backyard. If I was smart, I would have taken pictures of the completed thing... though to be fair, my phone was under 5% once we were done today so I wasn't able to see anything with which to take pictures. So on that note, I'll have to take some pictures once I get the chance and post them later for everyone to see.
There's something special about taking the time to build a new fence with your family... other than the fact that you're saving money by not paying someone else to do it for you. My mom and dad came in to Moose Jaw to help out; unfortunately dad managed to hurt himself in the process. I got a great workout from the whole thing by carrying things around the backyard and using the air nailer (which is much heavier than you'd think after holding it all day).
Thankfully our neighbor used to be in construction and he's a super helpful and awesome guy, so right from the start he wandered over and brought some tools to help take the old fence down and dig holes for new posts and help put the whole thing up. I guess he must really enjoy working outside and doing construction projects because he was eager to help us every day including just yesterday when we finished up with the gates and the final boards.
I have to say, I feel so lucky to have such an awesome family and an amazing neighbor to help us set up a new fence. The whole thing is six feet tall now so there's no hope of either of our dogs jumping out over the fence which is what started this whole thought of replacing the fence in the first place.
Finally I can let them both out to run around and burn off their energy once again without worrying about them getting out. The last thing I have to do now is clean up all the junk wood and any loose nails in the yard and then everyone will have more room and we can hang out and actually use and enjoy our yard. Now that I've spent so much time outside this year I'm really looking forward to having a nice space where we can sit around or play in (I just have to clean up some poo from the dogs and we'll be good to go).
I'll upload pictures as soon as I can so you can all see just how beautiful our new fence is. ^_^

=== Mobile Game Review - Tiny Tower - Idle Management - 7/10 =20=
Tiny Tower was one of the first idle management games I ever played on my phone. It seems like most of the mobile games tend to be somewhat idle games which makes sense as I imagine most people would play a game only temporarily while waiting for something on the go or between activities.
Tiny Tower is a game about building a tower of residences for people to live in and constructing shops for them to work in which earn money by selling merchandise which you can then use to construct more rooms.
Tiny Tower is a game about building a tower of residences for people to live in and constructing shops for them to work in which earn money by selling merchandise which you can then use to construct more rooms.
There is a nice little tutorial sort of thing to start the game which directs you to construct certain rooms and stock shops and really gives you the idea of how to play the game. Completing his instructions gives you Bux which are used to buy upgrades and to stock shops faster.
As your tower builds up you'll see more and more different shops and people as you construct residences and your choice of room types. People move into the tower in one of a few different ways: They can appear in the elevator and want to be dropped off on a floor with a residence, you can pay for a new person to move in using Bux, or a special VIP can appear in the elevator who would cause a residence to completely fill up when dropped off on a floor with one.
The idle part of the game comes from stocking the shops and turning the game off for some time. While you are away, the game keeps selling the merchandise and gives you the profits once the game is turned back on. There is another idle income mechanic which is that once per day you'll earn rent from your residences.
In most games, earning the second type of resource income can be rather difficult or slow, but in Tiny Tower, you're able to earn it pretty easily just by logging in each day which causes fireworks to go off dropping Bux. The more days you log in, the more fireworks you get which means you get more Bux all the time.
The Bitizens of the tower are the lifeblood of your operation; without them, you wouldn't have any rent, or anybody to work the constructed shops. They have different skills which affects the amount of discount you get for ordering merchandise to the shop they're working in. They also have a dream job which doubles the amount of stock for the shop while they're working there.
As a fun little side-thing to help keep people entertained, there's a Bitbook which is absolutely making fun of Facebook by having the Bitizens post updates and statuses and things which can be entertaining to read, but have no effect on the game at all.
Finally, as with all idle games, this game has a way to reset the game; this allows you to restart for the fun of having a new tower from square one, but keeping some of your progress and giving some sort of bonus for doing so which in this case is to give a golden ticket allowing you to super-charge one of your floors.
Is this a game worth playing? It's definitely well thought-out and if you put in the time to play the game, you can get quite into it. There are some times when the game can get a little slow which is something which does tend to happen when getting further into some of these idle games, but I do think this game is very worth it to play. The gameplay is engaging while it is running and gives you a reason to come back for rewards with each session. There are many mechanics and things going on which keep you having different things to do whether that's stocking shops or moving characters to their requested floors via the elevator.
I'm giving this game 7/10 for idle games because it is better than average, but the gameplay can get somewhat stale after a while, especially if you don't have enough time to actually spend a little bit checking up on the tower once in a while. Other than that, I do recommend this game to play.

Age of Wonders -- Keepers Scenario 6 - Part 1
Finally uploaded another Age of Wonders part. Sorry for such a long delay, I've been quite busy for the past little while and haven't had a good chance until now to do so.
Now we start a new scenario which seems like a pretty big map, so it definitely won't be quite as short as the previous scenario. Wish me luck everybody! Hopefully we won't have to try this scenario over and over again like that other one... :P
This campaign and more can be found on my Age of Wonders page.

Sidewalk Days 2018 =18=
Sidewalk Days is finally here! This is an event in Moose Jaw that's a little bit like a giant farmer's market for a few days. A large section of Main Street gets closed off and a bunch of companies and product sellers from within and from outside of Moose Jaw all set up tents and show off their stuff. You can get quite a few free things and can enter free draws and things just from walking up and down the street. It's a fantastic way to get some free entertainment and a lot of exercise from doing so much walking.
It was at Sidewalk Days two years ago that I got a couple turtle necklaces for Carley to wear and only a couple weeks ago that the first one finally broke. We also got her first purse at that same Sidewalk Days which unfortunately didn't last as long due to the zipper breaking and then the dog chewing on it. That was our first experience with the event and now we totally love going to it. I'd even take the dogs with us, but this year it's so very hot out and we still haven't mastered having two dogs and a baby on a single walk, so perhaps we'll give that a try next year.
So far this year we've gotten two balloons (one came off the string and floated away), some cool hot pack things which are normally quite expensive but we got for something silly like 75% off, we've entered a few free draws, bought tickets for a 50/50 draw, got information for a new place which does a doggie daycare during the day and grooming as well. It's been pretty fantastic and we still have to go back to see a couple more booths later today including one which is filled with tons of lego characters made to represent many different celebrities, mascots, and characters.
If you've never been to this event, you should make plans to come to Moose Jaw next year around this time. You can find some pretty cool things going on with some cool stuff to buy or you can just walk up and down the street and learn about the stuff going on around the city.

I Survived Camping With Friends =17=
I have great news, I survived camping with friends! Surprisingly, I had a fantastic time out in the "wild" with our friends. I managed to stay off of my phone nearly the entire time except for a short time while boating when I was hanging out and watching the fishing going on; Carley caught her first fish by the way. :D It's a bit of a personal accomplishment for me to be able to spend nearly a whole four days without being all over my phone the entire time, so I have to say I'm quite proud of myself.
Considering how Carley likes to plan things ahead of time and I like to make lists... you'd think we'd be more prepared for things. As it turns out... we didn't bring our pillows for the second camping time. I'm hoping to be much more prepared the next time we go camping. I'm pretty sure we had everything we needed for Isabelle, which is great and all... but we totally forgot to be prepared for ourselves. We forgot to bring our own bug spray!
Unfortunately during the second day we were out there the zipper on our tent split so we weren't able to close our tent. For the most part this wasn't an issue, but eventually it got a little more wet out and the mosquitoes started coming out in large numbers. This wasn't too much of an issue while we had bug spray... though eventually we ran out on the last day and that's when things got really bad. Thankfully we were able to buy a tarp at the store which we were able to bungee to the front of the tent with the help of our fantastic friends.
The great news is that Isabelle had a great time (I think). She played a bunch with Ella and complained a ton that we wouldn't let her go near the fire pit, but she seemed to enjoy being outside a ton; she wouldn't go to bed when she was supposed to. I think the only night she went to bed on time was the last night only because she was so tired from the day before that she couldn't keep herself awake. Canada day in particular she only got about half an hour of sleep before getting up to go see the fireworks at 10:00 pm... which she enjoyed so much with Carley's hands over her ears that she started to fall asleep while watching them.
All in all, camping was great. Super tiring to get up so early and do so many things throughout the day including long hikes with the baby on my chest, but totally worth it. I'm confident we'll be camping again soonish.
